Menzies Distribution, Corby
Menzies distribution in Corby occupy a 400sqft warehouse facility. Planet have taken on the general servicing and maintenance of the facility.
Once on board, we worked with Menzies to design, install and commission a new aspirating detection system throughout the warehouse, removing the existing beam detection to modernise the detection. We provided a design and case study for Menzies that demonstrated their ability to occupy a further 600 pallet locations with the change in detection, within 6 months the project became cost neutral and continues to provide them within additional revenue.
Cineworld, Cardiff
Cineworld Cardiff is one of the largest cinemas in the UK consisting of 9 floors including sub floors back of house.
Planet were employed directly by Cineworld to undertake the design, installation and commissioning of the site wide fire alarm system. The project was complex integrating with the site wide PAVA system to deliver a phased evacuation strategy for the building.

Danish Crown took occupation of the new facility in Rochdale were Planet had undertook the base build of a new warehouse facility. We were further employed to undertake the full fit out of the entire facility of the fire alarm system which expanded the system to a full networked system comprising of 3 control panels, 30 aspirating systems along with associated point detection.
Following the fit out we have been retained to undertake the full maintenance and servicing of the site working across more facilities in the UK for Danish Crown.
Loughborough Building Society, Loughborough
Planet were awarded the design, installation and commission of the fire alarm system, access control and intruder alarm systems to the new UK head office for Loughborough Building Society.
The project was a complete strip out and refit to repurpose the building for Loughborough Building society.
135 Blackfriars, London
135 Blackfriars is a major development composed of two distinct components that seeks to define the skyline at a pivotal junction of road, rail and river. The site is initially sliced in two to create a large commercial parallelogram and a small residential trapezoid in plan. The parallelogram is extruded up 90 metres (20 storeys) to form a sharp-edged crystalline volume, which is then cut away to respond to context: to the south to minimise the impact to Ludgate House, diagonally to the north to orientate the building towards the river and city; at street level to add generosity to the public realm and across the roof to create a reflective triple-height ‘sky-room’. In contrast, the dark masonry trapezoid is extruded up six levels and then carved away to create loggias, terraces and gardens for its ten residential apartments.
Planet have undertaken the design, installation and commissioning of a new fire alarm system comprising of wired throughout communal areas and wireless within each apartment utilising Pearl and Agie detection by Honeywell.

The Royal & Derngate is a theatre complex in the Cultural Quarter of Northampton, England, consisting of the Royal Theatre, Derngate Theatre and the Northampton Filmhouse. The Royal was built by theatre architect Charles J. Phipps and opened in 1884

Airfield Business Park, Market Harborough
We are pleased to announce that we have won a new contract at the Airfield Business Park in Market Harborough for Leicestershire County Council to design and construct the fire & security services to the new business units.
This phase of Airfield Business Park will include the design and construction of ten steel-framed business units and a drive-through restaurant for Costa Coffee. This project is designed to meet a variety of businesses’ needs, these units will also provide existing tenants with opportunities to expand into larger premises. Supporting local businesses as they grow and creating additional jobs in the area.
Planet are excited to work on this design and build project for the new Units A1, B1, H1-H7 and Costa, providing the design, installation and commissioning of the fire alarm, intruder alarm, access control and CCTV systems for all units.

This phase of the Raunds Business Park will include the design and construction of four steel-framed warehouse units.
Biggleswade Care Home, Biggleswade

Jays Close, Basingstoke
Full design and build of three new speculative industrial units and production facilities.
The buildings, located at the former Motorola Site on Viables Industrial Estate combine more than 200,000 square feet internally.
The three facilities will benefit from a market-leading specification harnessing net zero carbon technology for the reduction of energy consumption and operating costs.
Built to BREEAM Very Good rating and an EPC rating of ‘A’ this is a net zero carbon development providing superior energy performance to its future occupiers including Photovoltaic PV and EV Chargers.
During construction of Unit 1, after acquiring a new tenant, Planet were awarded the fitout of Unit 3. The enhancement works have been developed to meet key dates within the integrated programme and in parallel with the Base Build.
Amber House, Bracknell
Design & construction of 193 new residential units and 2 commercial units together with marketing suite and associated external services.
All designs where modelled using Revit allowing shared model audits and clash checking for a faster and more efficient installation in risers and across common areas.
Planet hit the ground running with this development, starting with the marketing suite to showcase 3 ground floor street access flats.
A mix of ‘Shared Ownership’ and ‘Affordable Rent’ the different specification ER’s were met and delivered to a high standard and in-line with the clients handover dates.
Two commercial units were delivered to shell and core specification.
Planet were commended throughout the installations quality inspection reports and awarded credits for attitude, efforts, skills and delivery of a quality product from both HPL and NHBC.

Castle Farm Leisure Centre, Kenilworth
Full deign and build of the new Castle Farm dry leisure centre in Kenilworth, Warwickshire with a new 6 court sports hall, fully equipped gym, spin room, studio, café area and changing facilities. Also attached to the Leisure Centre was a new facility for Scouts and Guides incorporating large Explorers space, group rooms, kitchen, toilet facilities and meeting room.
The scope included CCTV, intruder alarm, access control, fire alarm, refuge alarms and WC alarms.
The project was complete within 26 weeks from start to completion.
Chester Farm, Irchester
This nationally significant heritage site contains over 10,000 years of human activity within its Roman Wall town.
Funded by the Heritage Lottery the project converted the existing Farm buildings to display archaeological findings, as well as a new Visitor Attraction featuring café, community, conference and training venues, office spaces and classrooms for school visits.
Planet undertook the design, installation of the fire alarm, intruder alarm, EVCS, access control and CCTV systems across all 13 buildings creating site wide integrated systems.
Broomhall Units 1-5, Worcester
The construction of five industrial units with integrated offices and associated external
works. Worcester is a prime manufacturing and logistics location.
These units are the first and second phases of development designed to meet the
growing demand for industrial space in the area.

Kingsway Community Primary School, Royal Leamington Spa
Design and build of the new Nursery and Community centre and a further extension to the existing primary school under the Pagabo framework.
The scope included CCTV, intruder alarm, access control, fire alarm, refuge alarms, WC alarms and induction loops.
The work will be complete for the Nursery / community centre from June to September 2024 from start to completion and later in Q1 2025 for the schools extension

Oakham Care Home
Another high quality & successful care home for longstanding client Kori Construction (previously known as S.A.C Construction) located in the beautiful market town of Oakham – this new £9m facility provides palliative and dementia care with 80 bedrooms and 13 linked aftercare apartments.
Planet were responsible for the design, installation and commissioning of the fire alarm, CCTV and access control systems.
The care home was delivered to a very high standard providing luxury facilities incorporating wide screen cinema, hair salon, private dining, assisted spa and even a bar/bistro to unwind with a drink —offering residential, respite, dementia and nursing care in a calm environment .
Parkwood Surgery, Hemel Hempstead
A split phase project comprising design and build of a two-storey extension and the refurbishment of the existing surgery to a state of the art primary care facility meeting a BREEAM Very Good Standard.

The new surgery creates more than 20 new or improved clinical rooms, minor operations room, recovery space and meeting/admin areas for staff; providing a wider
range of services to the community.
The practice remained fully operational during the works.

Plot A & C Windrush Industrial Estate, Witney
New build portal framed industrial units to plot C consisting of 9 individual warehouse units offering a total of 55,450 ft2 of GIA and Plot A offering 2 individual warehouse facility’s with a GIA of 5,274 m2 and a separate large car park.
Planet undertook the design, installation and commissioning of the fire alarm systems throughout all 9 industrial units.
Charles Green Jewellery Workshop - Birmingham
Planet have delivered the first phase of the fire and security services for the new Charles Green & Sons jewellery workshops and office space.
The agreed scope included deign, installation and commissioning of the fire alarm, EVCS system and intruder alarm system.
Unit DY - Bristol
Redevelopment of an existing industrial unit to provide a Biosafety Level 2 laboratory space inclusive of 16 nr. labs for research and development, offices, meeting rooms and a mezzanine event space overlooking a double height foyer.
The building is designed to create a supportive environment for creative scientific ventures.
This project was won the innovation category of the Constructing Excellent Southwest annual awards and springboards to the national awards.
Planet carried out the design, installation and commissioning of the fire alarms, EVCS system, access control, CCTV and intruder alarm system.
Regatta - O2 Arena
Working in partnership with Johnsons Shop Fitters, Planet Fire & Security recently completed the design, installation and commissioning of all life saftey systems at the new Regatta store in the O2 Arena. The systems comprised of a new Notifier Pearl addressable fire alarm system along with a new ASL PAVA system which in turn was fully interfaced with the main O2 Arena systems. The project allowed us to showcase our quick turn around ability taking 5 weeks from initial enquiry to full commisioning and hand over, this allowed the store to open on time and fully compliant.
Coloplast - Peterborough
Planet Fire & Security recently completed the design, installation and commissioning of all life saftey systems at the new warehouse facility for Coloplast in Peterborough. The 135,000 sq ft warehouse facility allowed us to showcase our expertise in delivering an integrated addressable Notifier fire alarm system utilising multiple technologies. The system consisted of the more traditional point detection throughout the 2 story offices, were throughout the warehouse were able to utilise our Advanced Designer status to showcase the latest FAAST air sampling technology from Honeywell, we continued this theme throughout the 1st floor office voids due to the design and size of the space presented.
Heath Mount School
Planet Fire & Security have recently completed the design, installation and commissioning of a new fire alarm system, intruder system, access control system and EVCS system, in the new auditorium building at Heath Mount School. The building was the 2nd phase of the new teaching centre that we completed in 2016. The project was delivered on time and within the projected budget leaving all fully satisfied.
Olleco - Aylesbury
Olleco was a new anaerobic digestion facility built on the outskirts of Aylesbury. Planet Fire & Security where awarded the installation of a networked Notifier by Honeywell fire alarm system along with an Eaton EVCS system across the entire facility. The project was challenging bringing together multiple detection types to operate in some of the harsh environments with some complex cause and effects.
Kettering General Hospital
Planet Fire & Security where proud to be awarded in March 2015 the contract to design, install and commission a whole new fire alarm system in 8 blocks that form part of the hospital, due to the success of this project we have just been awarded phases 2 & 3 for 2017 which incorporates another 7 blocks. The system has been designed to extend the new fire alarm system within the maternity block and shall then continue throughout the entire hospital, the system includes some vast complex cause and effects and also incorporates linking together multiple fire systems from multiple manufacturers.

St Crispin's Community Centre is a new development built to serve the local community in Northampton. All Bar One – O2 Arena
All Bar One is located within the main O2 Arena and consists of 3 floors plus a plant deck located on the roof. Planet Fire & Security had full responsibility for the design, installation and commisioning of a new addressable fire alarm system and PAVA system. The systems formed part of the overall O2 Arena fire strategy as well as acting as a standalone unit, despite the system having some complex cause and effects we delivered it on time and on budget.
